Influencer Marketing: How to Increase Your Online Presence Like a Boss

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

(and Collaborate with Brands & Influencers Along the Way)

Whether you are a side-hustler, entrepreneur, and a brand, increasing your online presence is on your mind more than ever.

According to Business Insider, brands have invested billions in influencer marketing annually. While the biggest focus for influencer marketing campaigns is historically Instagram, it isn't the only online platform to increase your online presence.

Did you know podcasting insights recently shared growth to over 200 million listeners in 2020 alone? Podcasting is a great way to engage your community with long-form content, as well as repurpose your blog content. Speaking of blogging and related social media platforms, Pinterest drives traffic and sales with visuals and binge-worthy content.

Pinterest has over 300 million users with over 80% being women with decision making power based on a study done by Sprout Social. Let's not forget about LinkedIn with over 600 million users focused on connecting with business & brands.

While it may be easy to focus influencer marketing on Instagram, it's wise to consider other platforms and/or a multi-platform approach to increase your online presence.

As a multi-passionate entrepreneur, I recognized the power of storytelling and results on Facebook and Instagram, and reached 25x sales in less than one year in 2013-2014. Immediately, I saw the potential of creating a community of influencers, bloggers, and social media gurus across platforms.

Since then, I and we received Top 4 Integrative Marketing Campaigns for working with >15,000 influencers on over 7 platforms, creating our own influencer marketing platform, reaching over >300 million monthly, and >3000% ROI with short to long term lifestyle, wellness, online, and travel campaigns.

Increase Your Online Presence

In my journey with social media and influencer marketing, I've learned How to Increase your Online Presence Like Boss includes podcasting, blogging, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Instagram.

While some entrepreneurs and influencers may focus on one to two of these platforms, I've discovered how combining a multi-platform marketing approach to increase our online presence has more benefits than you may imagine.

Not only that, but some of the best digital marketing experts tips to help you increase your online presence.

Start and Grow a Podcast

Podcasting is a great way to share short to long-term content on topics you love in depth. Podcasts range in results from 100s to millions of downloads monthly allowing you to integrate easily into your content strategy long-term.

I started my show Create with Katrina Julia in 2018. I've featured guests on my short episodes, Creator Series, and live interviews including Kajabi, Tailwind, and lifestyle influencers like Eileen Rhein @lighttravelsfaster with hundreds of thousands of followers to name a few.

In 2020, I started integrating a series approach with wellness, faith, marketing, business and travel on my show. For example, my Influencer Marketing series has over 15 episodes alone. This strategy of series on the show has paid off. My show grows 4-10x monthly in downloads increasing connection, community, and cash flow.

Podcasting is a great way to share your voice, create a community, and repeatedly share relevant topics. Not to mention, podcast episodes align easily to your online business and course launches, tie to social media channels like Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Instagram easily, and are an amazing way to stand out as an influencer by adding episodes for brands in your packages.

Blogging is Alive and Well

Over 400 million users view more than 20 billions pages every single month according to OptinMonster. Blogging is alive and well as you can see.

One of the reasons I maintain both a blog and a show is I love to first write my thoughts sometimes, and then consider if I want to share in one or several podcast episodes. Another reason I created both a blog and a show is sometimes I love to read and sometimes I love to listen. I realized many others relate to a variety of learning styles a different times.

You may easily align your blog posts to your marketing and launch plans, as well as consulting packages for brands to increase rates and monthly retainers.

I track our online presence with goal setting on Google Analytics, and continue to see blog traffic increase 40-80% weekly. A great way to increase your traffic is sharing videos and stories on Pinterest.

Pinterest Matters

With millions of users and billions of pins, Pinterest matters for your content strategy and increasing your online presence. With a content strategy for sharing themes, repurposing content, and posting videos and stories on Pinterest, I reached over 100,000 views monthly.

By refining Pinterest strategy, I am and we are on track to increase online presence to over 300,000 in less than 90 days. On my profile, KatrinaJuliafit, I've noticed videos and stories now generate over 5,000 views easily each time.

If you haven't set up your profile yet, you'll want to as soon as possible. Using IFTTT is a great way to tie your Instagram, Blogs and Shows to Pinterest. If you didn't know yet, Canva has incorporated a monthly social media planner directly on their site.

Learn LinkedIn

LinkedIn is the first online platform I started on. With over 600 million people on LinkedIn focused on business, it is a great way to connect for opportunities from employment to retainers.

On my LinkedIn Like a Boss piece, I share how your profile, tag line, about and features may help people notice you for speaking engagements, consulting projects, and monthly retainers. It's easy to share your experiences, education and results with an audience who is looking for what you offer.

A great idea is tying in your blog, show, and contact form directly on your LinkedIn profile features to increase connections, community and cash.

Instagram Influence

Last, but definitely not least, Instagram. With over a billion users on Instagram monthly, you definitely want a presence on Instagram. At the same time, you want to create a content strategy that ties in your story, content, and offers.

It is important to utilize Instagram along with your website, blog, show, LinkedIn and Pinterest. Instagram is a great way to create a community, collaborations, and launch online courses and an online business.

Your Instagram strategy may tie any and all of this on to your bio, link in bio, posts, videos, stories, and highlights. For brand collaborations, make sure you include what you may create in your media kit rate sheets and monthly and annual packages.

Make sure you are consistently inviting people to engage with you off of Instagram, and on your website. Otherwise, if anything happens to your Instagram account, you will likely lose connection with all your followers.

Make sure you track your results on Instagram, as well as other social media platforms to determine where your online presence is increasing and your highest return on investment.

Consider setting up your time according to where you want to increase your online presence, as well as where your results and estimated results come from.

To give you an example, I reached over 8,000 followers, over 3,000 posts, 100's of videos, 1,000s of stories and highlights on my Instagram in less than two years. Recently, without warning Instagram disabled my account. The only reason they cited was violation of terms and privacy with no specifics. Keep in mind, I don't use any bots, and do not follow/unfollow.

Having your Instagram account disabled is a real risk for you to consider especially if you are focusing 100% on Instagram. Thankfully, I recognized this risk years ago and started building all these platforms. So, while I wait on Instagram, I started rebuilding a new account.

It's important to point out I've experienced collaborations on Instagram with Kroger, Simple Truth, Airbnb, and Intellifluence with over 91,000 users, 13,000 brands, and over 210 countries represented regardless of Instagram followers because of my other platforms. I have also seen numerous other entrepreneurs generate 100s to 1000s of dollars weekly to monthly as well due to their experience, education and value far beyond Instagram followers.

Creating a community with social media, entrepreneurs, and influencers has added benefits far beyond what you may imagine. For example, my Instagram account restarting didn't impact our brand profile, influencer marketing communities on our platform, and other platforms and Facebook groups with millions in reach at all.

The possibilities as an Instagram Influencer is limitless and amazing. At the same time, consider how you are using it, the time you spend on it, and the return you are getting daily, weekly and monthly. I recently reallocated some time and virtual assistants to increasing content on YouTube recognizing how other platforms help you grow on Instagram too.

Keep in mind, strategy, consistency and patience is key on any of these platforms.
